Obituary

Richard (Dickie) Sims Wilson aged 82 went to be with his Lord and Savior on June 14th, 2025. He passed peacefully in his home in Chesterfield VA surrounded by his children.

Born in Charlotte County, VA on April 13, 1943, he spent his early years on the Wilson family farm in Brookneal. At 18, he moved to Richmond in search of opportunity and began working for Reynolds Metals, where he proudly devoted 43 years of service. Known for his strong work ethic and generous spirit, he was always willing to help others succeed.

Dickie had a love for golf, baseball and shag dancing. He found joy in helping his neighbors and spending quality time with his family and friends. His presence was warm, dependable and deeply valued by all who knew him.

Dickie was preceded in death by his parents Cabell and Louise Wilson, his 2 sisters Sue Ann Shotwell and Linda McCoy, his youngest son Christopher Wilson and companion Georgene Cole.

Dickie is survived by his brothers Page and Bossy Wilson, former spouses Heidi Wilson and Doris Bailey. His children Michele Ford (Trey), Vince Wilson (Silvia) and Richie Wilson Jr. He leaves behind 5 beloved grandchildren Trey Ford, Hailey Bowman, Cole Ford, Cole Wilson and Angie Castillo and three great grandchildren Ayden Ford, Maddy Ford and Jesper Bowman.

Dickie will be remembered for his kindness, unwavering integrity and his deep love of his family and friends. His legacy lives on in the lives he touched, and he will be dearly missed.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Monday, June 23, 2025 at Morrissett Funeral & Cremation Service, 6500 Iron Bridge Road, North Chesterfield, VA 23234. His funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, June 24, 2025 at the funeral home. Interment to follow at Sunset Memorial Park, 2901 W Hundred Road, Chester, VA 23831
