Obituary

Richard Howard Emory III, 67, of Chesterfield, VA passed away on Friday, November 25, 2022. He was born on July 13, 1955, in Fairfax, VA to the late Margaret Clyde Jones and Richard Howard Emory, Jr. Howard was preceded in death by Dana Cumbea-Allen. Howard was well known in the racing community. He spent every Friday night at Southside speedway and many nights working on cars and spending time with friends and family. He enjoyed his weekends at the campgrounds and visiting with friends. He was an amazing mechanic and enjoyed wood working.  When he wasn’t working on cars, racing, helping friends or at the campgrounds, he spent his time with the family and his grandchildren. Family was always his top priority. He is survived by his two sons: Steven Wayne Emory (Tiffany) and Howard Justin Emory (Jessica); daughters: Danielle Emory and Desiree Cumbea-Hailey; brothers: David Emory (Linda) and Randy Emory (Elaine); his grandchildren: Makayla, Austin, Brantley, Caytlyn, Georgia; and great granddaughter: Charlotte. A memorial visitation will be held on Friday, December 2, 2022, from 4:00 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Morrissett Funeral & Cremation Service, 6500 Iron Bridge Road, North Chesterfield, VA 23234.   2. Such a good and kind man. He will be remembered for the conversations we had. He certainly knew how to make someone laugh!

  3. Truly sorry to hear about the passing of Howard. He will be greatly missed around the campground. Our dear Lord took him home — too soon — but he will no longer be in any pain. May God be with each of his family through the days ahead.

    Randy and I will truly miss you at the campground. Having you over for breakfast but making sure your biscuit wasn’t cooked through as you liked it that way. Our many conversations on whoever’s deck as we gathered. May the family find peace and comfort through this difficult time. RIP Howard till we meet again.
