Obituary

Richard Howard Emory III, 67, of Chesterfield, VA passed away on Friday, November 25, 2022. He was born on July 13, 1955, in Fairfax, VA to the late Margaret Clyde Jones and Richard Howard Emory, Jr. Howard was preceded in death by Dana Cumbea-Allen. Howard was well known in the racing community. He spent every Friday night at Southside speedway and many nights working on cars and spending time with friends and family. He enjoyed his weekends at the campgrounds and visiting with friends. He was an amazing mechanic and enjoyed wood working.  When he wasn’t working on cars, racing, helping friends or at the campgrounds, he spent his time with the family and his grandchildren. Family was always his top priority. He is survived by his two sons: Steven Wayne Emory (Tiffany) and Howard Justin Emory (Jessica); daughters: Danielle Emory and Desiree Cumbea-Hailey; brothers: David Emory (Linda) and Randy Emory (Elaine); his grandchildren: Makayla, Austin, Brantley, Caytlyn, Georgia; and great granddaughter: Charlotte. A memorial visitation will be held on Friday, December 2, 2022, from 4:00 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Morrissett Funeral & Cremation Service, 6500 Iron Bridge Road, North Chesterfield, VA 23234.   1. It was a pleasure to meet him and work with him for 5 years. He taught me a lot and made me a better person in life. My friend. I’m going to miss having someone to talk to when I’m down and to give me a lift and a smile. Rest in peace my friend. You will forever be in my thoughts and prayers.
