Obituary
Our beloved Dad, Papa, and brother, Richard Lee Trammell (73) of Richmond, Virginia, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, January 29, 2025. He is preceded in death by his parents Melvin Earl Trammell and Ellen Garrison Trammell. He is survived by two daughters, Jennifer Trammell Smith (Brian) and Nichole Trammell; one grandson, Garrison Charles Smith; two brothers Larry Earl Trammell (Dale) and Scott Eugene Trammell (Debbie); two sisters Kimberly Trammell West (Johnny) and Kelly Trammell Rogers (Rusty); as well as three nieces and two nephews. The family would like to recognize and thank his caregivers Linda James and Cynthia Williams for the wonderful care they provided to Richard.
Richard, or as many knew him, “Rick,” was born in Chicago, Illinois on January 14, 1952. He spent his early years in his beloved neighborhood, Streamwood, which always held a special place in his heart. He moved to Richmond during his senior year of high school. He quickly fell in love with racing and spent many Friday nights at Southside Speedway. He also co-owned and operated a successful family business, Broad Rock Towing, for 49 years. Richard held many talents. He was creative and innovative. There wasn’t a problem or a situation that he couldn’t provide a solution for. More recently, his teachings are most evident in his grandson, Garrison (Papa’s Little Buddy). Richard’s legacy will continue to live on through him.
The family will receive guest from 12:00 pm-1:00pm and Richard’s Celebration of Life will follow at 1:00 pm on Tuesday, February 4 at Morrissett Funeral & Cremation Service, 6500 Iron Bridge Rd., N. Chesterfield, VA 23237. Interment to follow at Maury Cemetery.

Tricky Ricky you were one of the best friends I could have. Memories were unlimited with you when Nikki was little as she was the same age as my boys. And the trips with those kids & the laughs still linger and forever will. Ski trips where we sit in the restaurant and drink coffee (me) you coke and LAUGH! We were SILLY! I hold those dear. Watching you raise Nikki with love and care. Your love for your family remains untouched. Jenny & Garrison will miss you so much! I pray 🙏🏼 God wraps his arms around them during this difficult time. I pray They have more time laughing at all the crazy moments (I know they had) and they over power the grief. Tricky Ricky fly high and Dance! (I know you can’t lol) BUT DO IT ANYWAY! Your loved & missed greatly

I knew Rick for many years, while working for Dick Strauss Ford. He was always professional, helpful and courteous. On many occasions he showed his character by going over and above the duty of his obligation to us! He became my friend, I offer my condolences to his family! He is already missed.
