Obituary

Robert T. Thornton, 62, of N. Chesterfield, Va., left the arms of his loving family to be in the arms of the Lord on Tuesday, March 3, 2020. He is preceded in death by his mother, Juanita Thornton; sister, Linda Carolyn Cherry; and sister-in-law, Mary C. Mahoney. He is survived by his loving wife, Shirley Thornton; children, Kelton C.D. (Mandy) Lowry, Robert L. (Adrianne) Thornton, and Janette N. Frank; granddaughters, Kaylee and Rebecca Thornton and Kaylis M. Lowry; special niece and nephew, Crystal Gail Doggett and Joseph C. Carmine, and numerous others; brothers, Andrew Thornton, Herbert Wright; and sisters-in-law, Debra A. (Dane Cox) LaBounty, Cornelia A. (Allen) Holloway and Angelia L. Jefferys. The family will receive friends Sunday, March 15, from 5 pm- 7pm at Ironbridge Church, 10900 Ironbridge Rd. N. Chesterfield, Va. His funeral service will be held Monday, March 16, at 2 pm. Interment will follow at 3 pm at Dale Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorial contributions be made in his honor to the QDMA, River City Branch; 1805 Giles Bridge Rd.
