Obituary

Mr. Ronald Coward affectionately known as “Ronnie” passed away peacefully in his home on November 28, 2023. He was born on September 30, 1939 to James and Odell Coward in Baltimore Maryland. Ronnie attended Frederick Douglass high school and after school Ronnie became a master carpenter he owned and operated his own company called “Rent a Carpenter”.

In 1967 Ronnie found his love Shirley Darby and the two were married in July 1969. From this beautiful union three sons were born.

The family moved to Midlothian Virginia in 1985. Ronnie and Shirley became members of Victory Tabernacle Church of God located on Genito Rd. Both Shirley and Ronnie became active members of the church and participated in several ministries.

Ronnie being a semi pro baseball player loved sports. He enjoyed golf also working as a caddy. He was a avid fisherman and love being outdoors. You could count on him cheering for his favorite baseball team the Baltimore Orioles. Ronnie’s funny jokes and quick wit will be forever missed by all who knew him.

Ronnie was proceeded in death by his parents and sister Lavenia Martin. He leaves two brothers James Coward Jr and Rayford Coward with wife Ernestine. He leaves with cherished memories his loving and devoted wife

Shirley D Coward and three loving son Kenny, Joseph with wife Joyce and James. He leaves his legacy with seven grandchildren Anthony, Amir, Elijah, Isabella, Josiah, Mykhael, Mykhari. He leaves one niece Cindy and one nephew David.
