Obituary

Ronald “Ronnie” Wade Barlow, 77, of Chesterfield, VA passed away on Saturday, September 20, 2025, in Midlothian, VA. He was born on June 24, 1948 in Richmond, Virginia to the late Willie Royal Barlow and Janis Wade Barlow. Ronnie is preceded in death by his brother, Wayne Royal Barlow and nephew, Andrew Wade Barlow.

He is survived by his wife, Dianne Sue Barlow; sister, Linda Christine Barlow; son, Mark Duane Barlow (Kelly); daughters, Jennifer Laurie Barlow and Olivia Barlow (James); grandchildren: Haley Alexa Browning (Jack), Sophia Alana-Grace Fisher, Piper Nova-Leigh Fisher, and Taylor Reese Barlow; great granddaughter, Ophelia Hall Browning; nephew, Matthew Wayne Barlow; and niece, Lauren Christine Barlow.

Ronnie was a one-of-a-kind soul—funny, bold, and unafraid to speak his mind, yet beneath his stern exterior was a heart bigger than most. He found joy in life’s simple pleasures: long, quiet car rides in the middle of the night, cheering loudly (and passionately) for his beloved Miami Dolphins, and most of all, spending time with his family, who meant the world to him. Ronnie’s deep love extended beyond his household—he was a proud supporter of the 5 Leaf Greenery Association, where he found connection and fun, often riding Ebikes alongside his son and daughter-in-law. He lived fully, laughed loudly, and gave love freely—always in his own unforgettable way. He was the world’s best Papa, PawPaw, aka Grumpa. 

The family will receive friends and family from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 25, 2025 at Morrissett Funeral & Cremation Service, 6500 Iron Bridge Road, North Chesterfield, VA 23234. His graveside service will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Friday, September 26, 2025 at The Crewe Cemetery, 2002 Falls Road, Crews, VA 23930.
