Obituary
Rose Etta Moore, 76, of North Chesterfield, Virginia has gone to be with our Lord on Friday, November 29th, 2024. She was preceded in death by her mother, Mildred Seale; father, Eddie Smith; and brother, Kenny Seale. Rose is survived by her husband, David L. Moore; daughter, Katherine “Kat” Moore; stepdaughter, Adrienne K. Latimer; stepson, D. Scott Moore (Timothea); brother, Michael Seale (Tay); sister, Deborah Edmonds (Jim); as well as a host of extended family members and dear friends in Alabama and across the country.
From an early age, Rose was an avid fisherwoman, and in adulthood she enjoyed many camping trips with her family. Her love of the outdoors eventually manifested itself in a passion for gardening, with a truly admirable crop of peppers, potatoes, and green beans.
On “indoor days”, Rose was a fan of science fiction and horror. She especially loved Star Trek, The Walking Dead, and (almost) all the Terminator movies. Her favorite way to unwind was turning on a movie or TV show, cuddling up with her cat, and indulging in a cup of coffee with a slice of pecan pie (that’s puh-CAWN, not PEE-can).
Rose had a gentle spirit that belied a fierce sense of protectiveness for her loved ones and pride in her work – both personal and professional. She labored through many hardships throughout her life, but she faced every challenge with grace and determined optimism, never losing faith in her ability to triumph.
She continually undertook many a self-improvement project. Whether it was continuing education for her work, committing to physical therapy and medical treatments, or teaching herself how to grow her own vegetable garden, she always pushed herself to do her best.
It’s hard to quantify just how many lives she touched with her kindness, generosity, and humor. One thing that is certain, however, is that the world is a lucky place, and a better one, for her having been in it. She will never be forgotten by those who knew and loved her.
A private graveside service will be held at Dale Memorial Park. Rose’s Celebration of Life will be held at Morrissett Funeral & Cremation Service on Friday, December 6th, 2024 from 3:00 – 5:00 p.m.

The most kind and unselfish person, Rose was a solid foundation within her home. I will happily remember our conversations and her wonderfully calming smile. God keep her, now without pain, and bless David and Kat in this difficult time.

Rosey,
(Yes, I know you hated me calling you this). I’m going to miss you. We had our good times and I talked with David remembering when I scared you with a picture of a snake 😃.
I will always keep our good times in my memory. David & Kat. You will always be part of The Whitlock family.
