Obituary

Rosemary Elizabeth Chenoweth, 81, of Chesterfield, VA went to be with the Lord and her beloved husband, Lawson, on Sunday, June 14, 2026. She was born on November 28, 1944 in Portsmouth, Virginia to the late John Durwood James and Rozella Whitley James. She is preceded in death by her loving husband of 62 years, Lawson Miller Chenoweth.

Rosemary was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She was also an office administrator, antique consigner, and incredible interior home designer. Rosie was a motivator, organizer, and foundation for her family. She participated and supported her husband across many endeavors: racing, owning a successful business, and traveling across the US.
Rosemary is survived by her sons, James Lawson Chenoweth (Lisa) and John Christopher Chenoweth (Kathleen); and seven grandchildren: Whittaker Chenoweth (Breana), Lillian Chenoweth Nesbit (Nicholas), Spencer Chenoweth, Lindy Chenoweth, Megan Chenoweth, and Paige Chenoweth; and great grandson, Bo Chenoweth.

A celebration of life will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 27, 2026 at Morrissett Funeral & Cremation Service, 6500 Iron Bridge Road, North Chesterfield, VA 23234.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Rosemary’s name to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
