Obituary

Russell Irad Berkley, 96, of North Chesterfield, VA went to be with the Lord on Friday, June 27, 2025. He was born on December 17, 1928 in Charlotte County Virginia to the late Wheeler Radford and Janie Adams Berkley. He is preceded in death his beloved wives, Ruth Berkley and Evelyn Gill Berkley; son, Brent Berkley; daughter, Sandra Sharp; brothers, Haley Berkley and Kenton Berkley; and a sisters, Gladys Roberts and Macele Berkley.

 Russell is survived by five daughters, Bonnie Berkley Cosby (James), Barbara Epps, Shirley Mays, Linda Simmons, and Kathy Wilhelm (Rodney); and numerous beloved grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Russell proudly served his country in the U.S. Air Force before continuing his career as a dedicated customer service agent with United Airlines, where he eventually retired. He had a deep love for music and found joy in working in the yard. Russell was a beautiful, sweet man whose kindness touched everyone around him. His radiant smile and those unforgettable blue eyes will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

The family will receive friends from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. with his funeral service following at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, July 7, 2025 at Morrissett Funeral & Cremation Service, 6500 Iron Bridge Road, North Chesterfield, VA 23234. Interment with military honors to follow at Dale Memorial Park, 10201 Newbys Bridge Road, Chesterfield, VA 23832.
