Obituary
Ruth Hubbard DeVore, 78, of Chesterfield, VA passed away on Monday, June 23, 2025. She was born on June 20, 1947 in St. Louis, Missouri to the late George Moyer Hubbard and Iva Bell Hubbard. She is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Richard Edward DeVore.
Ruth is survived by her daughter Michelle DeVore Resnick (Todd Resnick); son, Richard Earl DeVore; grandchildren, Alex Resnick and Rachel Resnick; and brother, Moyer Van Arsdale Hubbard (Janese Hubbard).
Ruth’s presence lit up the lives of those fortunate enough to know her. Her dedication to her family and unwavering support for her church and community set an example of selflessness and empathy for people and animals alike. Through her loving and caring nature, Ruth made an indelible mark on the hearts of everyone around her. Through the love she spread so generously, Ruth will be dearly missed and never forgotten.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Tuesday, July 1, 2025 at Morrissett Funeral & Cremation Service, 6500 Iron Bridge Rd, N. Chesterfield, VA 23234. Her funeral Service will be held at 11:00 am on Wednesday, July 2, 2025 followed by a reception at the funeral home (Services will be livestreamed). Her interment will be held at 2:00 pm at Dale Memorial Park, 10201 Newbys Bridge Rd, Chesterfield, VA 23832.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions be made in honor of Ruth to either Best Friends Animal Society or the Alzheimer’s Association.
