Obituary

Sandra Staples Wynne, 84, of Chesterfield, VA went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, October 14, 2025, in Midlothian, VA. She was born on June 13, 1941 in Richmond, Virginia to the late Luther Morris Staples and Mary Irene Staples.

She is survived by her beloved husband, Robert Lee Wynne; daughter, Amy Trivette (Richard Warner); son, Jeffrey Saunders (Sarah); daughter, Christina Marshall (Greg); son, Jonathan Wynne; and grandchildren, Ian James Saunders (Ann Hunter), Evelyn Saunders (Michael), and Lance Marshall.

Sandy was a proud graduate of John Tyler Community College, the VCU School of Education, and Union PSCE. Her deep love for children was evident in her 23-year career as a kindergarten teacher at Ettrick and Gordon Elementary Schools.

Sandy also had a lifelong passion for music. She sang in several choirs, including the choir at Branch’s Baptist Church and, more recently, with Joyful Voices at Salisbury Presbyterian Church. In addition to singing, she shared her musical talents by teaching piano lessons in her home for many years.

A visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 30, 2025 at Morrissett Funeral Home, 6500 Iron Bridge Rd, N. Chesterfield, VA 23234. Her funeral service will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 1, 2025 at Grace Baptist Church, 4200 Dover Rd, Richmond, VA 23221. Interment to be private.
