Obituary

Scarlett Lee Winecoff, 73, of Chesterfield passed in her sleep on July 18, 2022 after an extended illness. She was reunited with her loving parents, the late Carlton Woodrow and Mary Jones Winecoff. Scarlett was born Dec. 1, 1948, the firstborn of Carlton and Mary and was a graduate of Park High School in Richmond and worked for Goodwill Industries. One of her greatest pleasures was playing bingo with her mother and friends at Tri-Cities Civic Center. She experienced a multitude of challenges throughout her life and met them all with a cheerfulness and determination that served as an inspiration to many. She is survived by her brothers, David Winecoff (Sandra) and Mark Winecoff; niece Jessie Winecoff and nephew David Winecoff; as well as extended family and friends. A graveside service for the family will be held 10AM Tuesday, July 26 at Maury Cemetery in Richmond.

    Scarlett was one of a kind. Having known her for most of my life growing up in Mid-Cities Civic Assoc with Mary and Carl were lifetime members, I feel so blessed to call Scarlett my friend. I only wish I could have come to visit over the last few years. 😞
