Obituary

Our beloved Silvina Serrano Funtila, 98, passed away peacefully to be with our Lord on December 18, 2025 leaving behind a world brighter with her presence.

Born on February 17, 1927, to Venancio and Emelia Serrano, Silvina devoted her life to her family, friends, and faith. She was a devout Catholic whose faith guided her throughout her long and meaningful life. Silvina was an excellent cook and took great pride in preparing meals that brought her family together, often using vegetables she lovingly grew in her garden. Family was the center of her world, and she cherished time spent with her large family, creating memories that will be treasured for generations. Her legacy lives on through the family she loved so deeply and the traditions she passed down.

Silvina is survived by her children & respective spouses: Rudy & Acel, Jerry & Genny, Armando, and Joanne; grandchildren: Eric, Jereme, Morgan, Jacalyn, Marilyn, Sirena, Dencel, Shane, Rendell, Armando Jr., Jerrell, Cedric, Jerry Jr., Patrick, and Kyle; and great-grandchildren: Isabelle, Tristan, Jadyn, Seth, Gavin, Xander, Isaiyah, Charlize, Kai, Gamble, Rylen, Gabriel, Damian, and Grayson.

Silvina is preceded in death by her parents, Venancio and Emelia Serrano; husband, Porfirio Funtila Sr.; son, Porfirio Jr.; daughter, Marilyn; and grandson Brian.

A visitation, celebrating her life, will be held on Sunday, January 4th, 2026, from 2:00 PM – 6:00 PM at Morrissett Funeral & Cremation Service, 6500 Iron Bridge Rd, N. Chesterfield, VA 23234.

A Funeral Mass will be held the following day, Monday, January 5th, 2026, at St. Augustine Catholic Church, 4400 Beulah Rd, North Chesterfield, VA 23237, beginning at 12:30 PM, followed by an interment at Dale Memorial Park, 10201 Newbys Bridge Rd, Chesterfield, VA 23832.
