Obituary

Stinson, Stella Alma, 89, of Chesterfield, went to be with the Lord on Monday, December 6, 2010. Born in Cumberland, VA, she was a member of Kingsland Baptist Church, where she taught Sunday school for many years. She is survived by her husband of 69 years, John C. Stinson, Sr.; daughters, Barbara S. Collie (Albert), Linda S. Puryear (Willie), Sheila S. Morgan; sons, John C. Stinson, Jr. (Judy), Paul W. Stinson; sister, Myrtle S. Spurlock; grandchildren, Teresa Rogers, Joanne Dudley, Stephanie Gross, Amy Blaylock, Rebecca Collie, Sherry Viar, Angela Puryear; great-grandchildren, Evan, Brett, Mattie, Emma, Ethan, Kyle, Wyatt, Jordan, Berkley, Nicholas, Grayson, Benjamin, Logan, and Steven; numerous other loving family members and friends. The family will receive friends 6 to 8:00 PM, Thursday, December 9, 2010, at Morrissett Funeral Home 6500 Iron Bridge Rd. (Rt. 10), Richmond, VA 23234, where funeral services will be held 2:00 PM, on Friday. Interment will follow in Dale Memorial Park, 10201 Newbys Bridge Rd., Chesterfield, VA 23832.

  2. Deepest sympathy to the family. Alma is my grandmother’s sister, and I remember visiting their home as a child and being spoiled rotten. I know she will be missed by all who knew her. Prayers out to everyone.
