Obituary

Jenkins, Steve W., 60, of Chester, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, May 27, 2009, with his family at his side. He is survived by his wife, Karen Ford Jenkins; sons and daughters-in-law, Scott W. and Michelle Jenkins, Brian L. and Kathy Jenkins; parents, Mavis H. and Paul W. “Doc” Jenkins; sister, Patsy J. Rogers and her husband, Butch; grandsons, Shane and Andrew Jenkins; one niece and several nephews. Steve was owner and operator of Steven W. Jenkins, Inc. Automotive Repair, was a member of Iron Bridge Baptist Church and the Chester Lions Club. The family will receive friends from 3 to 5 pm and 6:30 to 8:30 pm Friday (today) at the Morrissett Funeral Home, 6500 Iron Bridge Rd. (Rt. 10). His funeral service will be held at 10 am Saturday at the funeral home. Interment to follow in Sunset Memorial Park. The family wishes to thank the nurses and staff at Thomas Johns Cancer Hospital for their care and support. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial contributions be made to the American Cancer Society, 4240 Park Place Ct., Glen Allen, VA 23060, Iron Bridge Baptist Church, Building Fund, 10900 Iron Bridge Rd., Chester, VA 23831, or the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, 3805 Cutshaw Ave., Richmond, VA.
