Obituary
Steven R. Bowman, 60, of Chester, VA went to be with the Lord on Thursday, July 16, 2026. He was born on May 30, 1966 in Richmond, Virginia to Harry Randolph and Patsy Sue Bowman. He is preceded in death by his grandmother, Frances Dye; uncles, Scott Bowman and Frank Bowman; aunts, Alma Bowman and Lou Bowman; and cousin, Pam.
Steven is survived by his beloved wife of 32 years, Janice M. Bowman; sons, Steven Alexander Bowman and Michael Scott Austin Bowman; grandson, Mason Cole Bowman; parents, Harry Bowman (Judy) and Patsy Bowman; brother, Rennie Bowman (Judith); aunts, Connie McGuire and Ester Carr; nieces, Jane, Grace, and Lucy Bowman; nephew, Owen Bowman; and extended family members and friends.
Steve was a hardworking and loving man who always put his family first. He often worked long hours, well beyond his regular schedule, to provide for those he loved. Steve cared deeply for his family and was a devoted husband who took wonderful care of his wife. He was also a caring and respected son-in-law, known for his kindness, dedication, and selflessness. Steve will be remembered as a good man whose love, commitment, and strong work ethic touched the lives of everyone who knew him. He will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing and loving him.
A celebration of life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 25, 2026 at Morrissett Funeral & Cremation Service, 6500 Iron Bridge Road, North Chesterfield, VA 23234.

Prayers for You and Your Family while mourning the loss of a fellow Varinian! Steve was a very happy and jovial person growing up in Varina High School. It looks like he had a life well-lived.
My prayers are on-going for his wife and family. There will be tough days ahead (speaking from personal experience). Lean on your Faith, Your Family, and don’t be afraid to ask for help. There are many things to do ahead and it is much easier with loved ones nearby.
