Obituary

Stargardt, Sr., Stuart Stanley, 72, of Chester, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, October 14, 2009. He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Barbara Lee Stargardt; daughters, Debbie Reed and Brenda Stargardt; sons, Stuart S. Stargardt, Jr. and Scott K. Stargardt; brothers, Kenneth H. Stargardt and his wife, Geiesha, Phillip F. Stargardt and his wife, Patsy; grandchildren, Taylor and Tiffiny Reed, Justin and Courtney Stargardt; several nieces and nephews. Stuart was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, and son-in-law. He loved nature and fed his pet squirrels and gophers every day. He loved the beach, gardening, fishing, sailing, and woodworking. He was a member of Millwright Local 1402 since 1957, Masonic Lodge #161, and the Air Force Reserves. The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 pm and 6 to 8 pm Saturday at the Morrissett Funeral Home, 6500 Iron Bridge Rd. (Rt. 10). A Masonic service will be held at 7:00 pm Saturday. His funeral service will be held at 7 pm Sunday at the funeral home. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial contributions be made to the American Lung Association of Virginia, 9221 Forest Hill Ave., Richmond, VA 23235.
