Obituary
Teresa Lynn Zirk of Richmond, Virginia, departed from this life on November 17, 2024 at the age of 63.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Thomas Ray Zimmer and Marsala H. Zimmer.
She is survived by her brothers, Leonard Zimmer (Lisa Zimmer) and David Zimmer; her children, Shannon Zirk (John Rimmer), Daniel Zirk, and Aaron Means; and her niece, Jessica Cooper.
Teresa over her lifetime worked many jobs with great dedication, starting out as a hair dresser and spending the last decade as a Registered Nurse. She loved to work with people and help those she could. She took her job seriously and would take time with everyone in her care to make sure they were okay. Teresa loved her kids and did her very best to provide everything they could need. She would go to sports games for her sons and encourage her daughter through her academics. Teresa trusted God completely and spent her whole life in the church. Her faith is what got her through her health conditions in good spirit. Even at her sickest times, she always knew she was safe in God’s arms.

Very sorry to hear that she passed. My thoughts and prayers are with the family at this time and may they be a peace knowing that Heaven has a new Angel.

My deepest condolences to Shannon, Daniel, and Aaron. I met Teresa at CCW in Weeki Wachee, Florida when we moved here in 2002. I have the fondest memories of Shannon playing with Aryanna, Ryan, and Bianca while Teresa and I chatted over coffee. Teresa is the kindest person you will ever meet and she always had an encouraging word. Besides being a sweet sweet friend, she was also a fantastic hairdresser! I am comforted by the fact that she is now with her Lord and Savior, Jesus, who she loved dearly and served faithfully. May the Lord be with the family and be the God of all comfort at this sad time.

Teresa is my forever friend. Her heart of love was created by the God she loves & both are eternal. Looking forward to our laughter & love filled times together in heaven with Jesus.
She LOVES her kids. Daniel, Shannon, & Aaron, – you are the most precious JOYS of her life. Her example & heart is for you to love God & your family -generously & 1st priority. Your being happy & successful in these 2 things is her valued life’s work.
Jimmy and David, Teresa treasures you both. I can’t number the times she bragged on what great brothers you are & how your support was worth more than gold.
Til’ we meet up next…Love you Girl!

Teresa cared deeply for her family. She was a dedicated and loving mother, a kind person with tremendous faith in God. My name is Rodney Murphy Means, the Father to her youngest child, Aaron Murphy Means. Teresa is gone to soon however Heaven is gifted with another one it’s Angels. Teresa had Great Faith and often spoke happily in regards to having another opportunity to be reunited with her Mother and Father. I know they are rejoicing now. If I could just briefly speak about the character of Teresa, I wouldn’t be able to sum it up in just few words. Only thing I can say is, that I feel very fortunate to have been Blessed with the opportunity to have shared the moments that God granted us to be together. Teresa will be highly missed by not just me, but a whole community. Teresa loved her Family dearly, her Family was everything to her and she took Great Pride and humility in sharing that Love. She was a Honest person, a Beautiful woman inside and out. She always tried her best to make a difference, I believe she accomplished that. I will miss Teresa, I will miss her Laugh, her Kindness, her miss humor, her Smile.Once again she gone to soon. So I’ll see again T” .. Love Always Rod 💖
