Obituary

Timothy Lloyd Sullivan, Sr., 82, of Prince George County, Virginia, passed away on Thursday, February 12, 2026. He is preceded in death by his parents, Lloyd S. Sullivan and Arlene Williams Sullivan, brother, David Brian Sullivan, and son-in-law, Stacey Jackson. He is survived by his loving wife, Jean Woodlief Sullivan; his children, Sherry Mills, Timothy L. Sullivan, Jr. (Debbie) and Jessie Anna Sullivan; grandchildren, Savannah Frashure (Adam), Killian Allen Mills, Tanner L. Sullivan and Marissa Brooke Jackson; great-grandchild, Payton Rae Frashure; brother, Michael Shannon Sullivan, Sr.; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Tim retired as a crane operator. He was a proud veteran of the United States Navy, where he served from 1962-1965. Tim was beloved by many in the shag community. He was a member of the Richmond Shag Club (RSC) for over 35 years where he served as president from 2012-2015; and became an Honorary Member in 2015; was inducted into the Virginia Shaggers Hall of Fame in 2011 and was elected to serve as the chairman in 2022; was inducted into the National Living Legends of Dance in 2016; and one of his highest achievements was receiving the Shagging Icon Award from the Association of Carolina Shag Clubs (ACSC) in 2017.

Tim is survived by cherished memories held close by many special friends and family whose lives he touched.

A visitation will be held in honor of Tim’s life on Sunday, February 22, 2026, at Morrissett Funeral and Cremation Service, 6500 Iron Bridge Road, North Chesterfield, VA, from 5:00 PM – 7:00 PM. A funeral service will be held the following day, Monday, February 23, 2026, at Morrissett beginning at 12:00 PM.

Tim’s passing leaves a void that cannot be filled. However, his timeless spirit will continue to inspire those who had the privilege of knowing him. Let us remember him for the love he shared, the joy he brought, and the way he would light up a dance floor.
