Obituary

In Loving Memory of Timothy Scott Meadows

Timothy Scott Meadows, 66, of Chesterfield, Virginia, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, October 15, 2025, in Chester, Virginia, leaving behind a legacy of laughter, kindness, and unforgettable stories. He was born on June 1, 1959, in Richmond, Virginia, to William Edward Meadows Sr. and Phyllis Ann Meadows. He was preceded in death by his mother, Phyllis Ann Meadows, and his brother, William “Butch” E. Meadows Jr.

Timothy (Tim) is survived by his wife, Audrey Smith Meadows, with whom he shared 42 years of love and companionship; his daughter and son-in-law, Audrey and Ty Doyle; his grandchildren, Meghan and William “Luke” Doyle; his father, William E. Meadows Sr., of Naples, Florida; his brother and sister-in-law, David and Rhonda Meadows; his brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Troy L. Smith Jr. and Joyce Smith; and his sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Belinda and Ron Rusek. He is also survived by many loving aunts, cousins, nieces, nephews, and a wide circle of friends, all of whom held a special place in his heart.

Tim attended Manchester High School, where he was affectionately known by his nickname, “Smiley.” He served honorably in the United States Navy, a chapter of his life he carried with pride. He loved his career painting houses and approached every project with craftsmanship and genuine care. He was known for his deep love for his family and the special bond he shared with his brothers. He also shared a special bond with his loyal collie, Champ, whose companionship brought him great comfort and joy.

Tim had a huge heart and an even greater love for God, which guided the way he lived and loved. He was the kind of man who never met a stranger. From the moment you met him, it felt as if you’d known him your whole life. He was known for his ever-present smile and a laugh so distinct and joyful it could light up an entire room. Tim had a gift for bringing joy to others—whether he was cracking jokes, swapping stories, or challenging someone to a game of pool or chess, his warmth and humor made him beloved by all.

A true waterman at heart, Tim found his greatest joy living on the water. He spent countless hours sailing, boating, and fishing. Tim was a people person at heart—he could strike up a conversation with anyone, and often did. His kindness was effortless, his generosity genuine, and his spirit unforgettable.

Tim’s laughter echoes in our hearts, and his love for life will never be forgotten. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife, daughter, grandchildren, father, brother, and other relatives, as well as the many friends whose lives he touched.

A brief chapel service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, October 21, 2025, at the Virginia Veterans Cemetery at Amelia, 10300 Pridesville Road, Amelia Court House, VA 23002.
