Obituary

Tom Gillespie, 75, of Chesterfield, Virginia passed away on Monday, November 3, 2025. He was born in Richmond, Virginia to the late Richard Carl Gillespie and Margaret Elana Gillespie. He is preceded in death by his brother, Lawrence Gillespie.

Tom is survived by his beloved wife, Annie M. Gillespie; son, Jason D. Gillespie (Cindy); daughter, Katie Clevenger (Chad); grandchildren, T.J. Gillespie, Levi Gillespie, Jessica Jennell, and Katelyn Jennell; great grandchildren, Leah and Waylon; brother, Michael Gillespie (Linda); and extended family members.

Tom was an avid reader, he spent countless hours happily lost in books from his favorite recliner. He was a dedicated instrument mechanic at Dupont for many years, a skill he also applied to his passion for fixing things and tinkering with lawnmowers. Just as important, he treasured the simple joy of sitting, visiting, and spending time with his friends and family. Above all, he was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend whose presence will be deeply missed.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Friday, November 7, 2025 at Morrissett Funeral & Cremation Service, 6500 Iron Bridge Road, North Chesterfield, VA 23234. His memorial service will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 8, 2025 at the funeral home.
