Obituary

Wayne Davis, 68, of Midlothian, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, May 23, 2021 surrounded by his family. He was born March 6, 1953 and grew up in Holly Ridge, NC. He married the love of his life, Debbie, and joined the U.S. Air Force where he served at Castle Air Force Base in California. After leaving the service, he graduated from Stanislaus State with a degree in Accounting. He began a 36-year career with the Department of Defense during which he worked at Fort Campbell, KY, Fort Lee, VA and Vogelweh, Germany. He will be remembered as a loving Son, Brother, Husband, Father, Opa, Uncle, and Friend. He was a faithful servant of God and had a passion for his family, travel, singing, and helping others. Wayne is survived by his beloved wife of 47 years, Debbie Lynn Davis; daughter, Amber Nicole Tipton (Paul); sons, Jared Andrew Davis (Brittany), Spencer Lloyd Davis (Katie); sisters, Edith D. Pierce (Dennis), Donna J. Wilson (Tony); grandchildren, Ada Jane, Lilla, Schaffer, Ethan, Emma, Parker, & Emmett; Many cousins, nieces, and nephews. Wayne was preceded in death by his parents, A.Z. and Ada Jane Davis. The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Friday, May 28, 2021 at Webber Memorial Baptist Church, 7800 Salem Church Rd North Chesterfield, VA 23237. A Celebration of his Life will be held 10:00 am on Saturday, May 29, 2021 at Journey Christian Church 3700 Price Club Blvd. Midlothian, VA 23112. The family asks that you kindly wear a mask.   1. Wayne was a dear brother in Christ. We cherish our time together while serving at Faith Baptist Church in Kaiserslautern, Germany. He was always a light to the people around him. Our deepest condolences and prayers for dear Debbie and the family. Love, Shane and Miranda
