Wilfred E. Almeida Jr., son of Wilfred E. Almeida Sr. and Joyce Almeida went to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Saturday, October 30, 2021. Wilfred was born on December 6, 1947. He was a graduate of Thomas Dale High School and a graduate of Lynchburg College where he was on the Dean’s List and the first male cheerleader. He was in the Army Reserves where became a Drill Sergeant. He taught school, spent many years as a pharmaceutical salesman, and owned Special Occasions Catering. Wilfred faithfully loved Jesus and would boldly share about Him with anyone who would listen. He took every opportunity to sing and share how much Jesus loved others. He was quick to speak the truth of scripture in good and bad times. Wilfred was a brave, courageous, generous, loving, sincere man who made an impact wherever he went. It was not uncommon to have those who knew him, and his many caregivers, say, “We love Mr. Almeida!” He made an incredible impact on everyone with whom he made contact. 1. I was so sad to hear of Wilfred’s passing. I met him on my very first day at Lynchburg College. He was a freshman too. We developed such a strong friendship in those four years. He was an usher in my wedding! While at LC, he was a BMOC (Big Man on Campus) … active and loyal through and through. My heart goes out to all of his family members. Heaven has gained an angel of endless worth.

  2. Oh how I long for those days of cousins growing up together in Chesterfield , spending summers together at the river, cousins playing while the parents and grandparents played music on spoons, combs and whatever else made noise while we watched from the stairs all the while amazed at their closeness and love they had for each other. Christmases were Huge events as cousins gathered at our house for plenty of food and memories. As we grew up and pursued our life’s dreams we never forgot how much we all loved ‘Bubba’ , as we called him, and wished him a blessed happy life, hoping for a day when we could all be together again to reminisce about those days, and remind him of the admiration we had, so as we grow older we know the days will come when we can make our own band of cousins come alive and preform for our Creator and Lord.
Learn all you can cuz so you can tell us how wonderful God is.
