Obituary

Wilfred E. Almeida Jr., son of Wilfred E. Almeida Sr. and Joyce Almeida went to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Saturday, October 30, 2021. He is survived by his children, Kelley Kirby, Wilfred E. Almeida III (Trey) and Berkley Almeida, and his stepdaughter, Lisa White; grandchildren, Tyler, Hayden, Preston, Coleman, Jacob, Mary, Audrey, Cora, Zoe and Charlie; great grandchild, Lucy; sisters, Beverly Zervakis and Brenda Williamson; brother, Terry Almeida; wife, Becky Almeida. Wilfred was born on December 6, 1947. He was a graduate of Thomas Dale High School and a graduate of Lynchburg College where he was on the Dean’s List and the first male cheerleader. He was in the Army Reserves where became a Drill Sergeant. He taught school, spent many years as a pharmaceutical salesman, and owned Special Occasions Catering. Wilfred faithfully loved Jesus and would boldly share about Him with anyone who would listen. He took every opportunity to sing and share how much Jesus loved others. He was quick to speak the truth of scripture in good and bad times. Wilfred was a brave, courageous, generous, loving, sincere man who made an impact wherever he went. It was not uncommon to have those who knew him, and his many caregivers, say, “We love Mr. Almeida!” He made an incredible impact on everyone with whom he made contact. Friends and family may visit from 3:00-5:00 pm on Sunday, November 7 at Morrissett Funeral & Cremation Service, 6500 Iron Bridge Rd., N. Chesterfield, VA 23234. 4. I’m so sad. Wilfred Edmond Almeida, Jr. was my dearest high school guy friend, my best dancing partner (we knew all the latest dances like “The Shotgun” and “The Boogaloo”), and lover of music (we knew all the words to all the songs), and my mom’s “Number 1 Son,” as she always called him all those years ago. He was a good good person and a loyal friend. My sincere love to Brenda, Becky, and to all his children and sweet members of his beautiful loving family. Love always, Mary Ann Hester Pittman
