Willard Lee Shiflett, Sr., 79, of S. Chesterfield, VA went to be with the Lord on Sunday, March 20, 2022. He was preceded in death by his parents, Elmer Willard & Ruby Lee Shiflett and sister, Ann Hailey. Willard is survived by his beloved wife of 61 years, Marie Eacho Shiflett; children, Willard L. Shiflett, Jr. (Diane), Eugene “Gene” Shiflett (Kitty), and Justine Shiflett Lyman (James); grandchildren, Victoria Trent (Daniel), Ashley Jones (Justin), Matthew Lyman (Jenn), Tiffani Jennings (Blane), Brandon Lyman, Adam Lyman, Tyler Shiflett, Ashlea Landers (Jon), Josh Fellwock, Jacob Fellwock (Mara), Jordan Fellwock, Dakota Shiflett, and Bethany Clarke (Nate); great-grandchildren, Maci, Justin, Walker, Jackson, Madison T., Oakley, Kaylea, Madison L., Nathan, Samantha, Cheyenne, Virginia, Ruby, Beatrice, and Wren; sister, Nita Sheffield (Ed), niece and nephew, Crystal and Eddie; and many other loving family members and friends.
Willard was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He served in the United States Navy and was an employee at Reynolds Metals Company for 33 ½ years. Over the years, he had many hobbies like hunting, fishing, and working in his garden. He followed University of Oklahoma Sooners football. He had a love for bluegrass and country music.
Willard enjoyed late night movie watching with his loving wife of 61 years. But most of all, he enjoyed spending family time just hanging out with his children and grandchildren talking and reminiscing.
The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 pm on Friday, March 25 at Morrissett Funeral & Cremation Service, 6500 Iron Bridge Rd. (rt. 10), N. Chesterfield, VA 23234. Willard’s Celebration of Life will be held at 1:00 pm on Saturday, March 26 at the Morrissett Chapel. Interment to follow at Dale Memorial Park.
