Obituary

William Henry Martin, Jr (“Henry” “Hen”) was born on October 20, 1939 and died November 28, 2022. Attended Beulah Elem and Thomas Dale High. He served his country in the US Airforce and the Virginia National Guard. He worked for Philip Morris as a lab tech for 26 years and then a plant supervisor for his wife’s business at Bender Venetian Blinds for 12 years. He was a member of Beulah UMC for 74+ years. He had a love for airplanes even as a little boy and eventually owned his own bright yellow Grumman named “Tweety Bird”. For 32 years his plane was kept at the Chesterfield Co Airport. From there many rides were given to friends and excited neighbor children. Was a member of the pilot association EAA for over 50 years. Henry volunteered for 10 years at the Hermitage repairing residents broken things. His hobbies included water skiing, building model airplanes and drawing the plans for his 2 homes and the business. He was also known for his love of corvettes. He was fortunate to own many including a 2022. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother and first wife, Madeline Williams Martin. He was survived by numerous cousins, nephews and wife, Carol Casler. Service to be held at Beulah United Methodist Church, Dec. 12 at 11 a.m., with reception to follow. In lieu of flowers make donation to Beulah UMC or Richmond SPCA.
