Obituary

William Ronald Mustain II, beloved husband, father, and devoted golfer, passed away on Tuesday, July 7, in Zanzibar. He was 77 years old.

Born on December 28, 1948, in Clifton Forge, Virginia, Ron grew up with a curious mind and a natural talent for understanding how things worked. That curiosity led him to Virginia Tech and a long and accomplished career in engineering at VDOT, where he approached every challenge with precision, creativity, and an unwavering commitment to excellence.

Outside of his professional life, Ron found joy and community on the golf course. As an avid golfer at Meadowbrook Country Club, he cherished the friendships he built there and the peaceful hours spent perfecting his swing. Golf was more than a pastime for him, it was a place where he felt at home.

Ron will be remembered for his sharp intellect, steady presence, and the kindness he showed to those fortunate enough to know him. His legacy lives on in the family he loved, the work he dedicated himself to, and the countless moments of laughter, patience, and generosity he shared throughout his life.

He leaves behind his wife, Linda, his son, Brad, and his granddaughter, Ella, who will forever hold him in their hearts.
