Obituary

Worth “Doug” Douglas Ebert, Jr., of North Chesterfield, VA went to be with the Lord on Thursday, November 6, 2025. He was born on November 22, 1954 in Camp Lejeune in North Carolina to Helen Petree Ebert and Worth Douglas Ebert, Sr. He is preceded in death by his father, Worth Douglas Ebert, Sr.; paternal grandparents, Pearl Midred Ebert and Ralph William Ebert; maternal grandparents, Helen Heath Fisher and Fred Hobert Petree; and stepfather, Bernard C. Wright.

He is survived by his mother, Helen Petree Wright; son, Chris Ebert (Antonia O’brien); daughter, Amy Ebert Fowler (Michael); grandchildren: Eryn Montgomery (Christian), Matthew Johnson-Ebert, Tyler Nicole Fowler; and Athena Renea Ebert; brother, Fred Heath Ebert (Cathy); nephew, Steven Ebert; and uncle, Jimmy Ebert.

He spent his youth in Winston Salem, North Carolina before moving to Virginia. He attended Thomas Dale High School, where he enjoyed his time and played football and graduating 1973. Doug began working for E.I. DuPont at the age of 18 and dedicated many years of service there, eventually retiring as a safety supervisor. Later in life, he developed a strong passion for powerlifting. He was also an avid art collector, with a special appreciation for local artwork. Worth participated in an online church with Pastor Dave, with whom he formed a close bond and often sought both life and spiritual guidance from. After retirement he enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and talking with his close friends.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
