Donald George Ruecroft passed away on December 27, 2018 surrounded by loved ones. Donald's parents were George Leroy Ruecroft and Helen Louise (McIlree) Ruecroft. Don grew up in Annandale, Virginia and attended Annadale high school. He went to Virginia Commonwealth University and majored in psychology. This is where he met the love of his life. Don married Patricia Carol Screen at Mount Vernon Unitarian Church in Alexandria, Virginia on May 6, 1972 in the Boxwood Gardens. Don sought further knowledge from VCU in teaching education and became a Chesterfield County School Teacher in 1973. He worked primarily at Robious Middle School until 2003. He was a beloved and admired science teacher effecting everyone around him and inspiring students for he future. Many of his former students went in to careers in science, some visiting him years later and thanking him for the way he touched their lives. Don loved the outdoors. He enjoyed camping with his family, going on long bike rides, and going to concerts. He taught his sons to always do what was right, to work hard at anything they set their minds to, and respect and help others over themselves. Don is survived by his wife Patricia Carol Screen, his brother Robert C. Ruecroft, his sons Paul Joseph Ruecroft and Sean Michael Ruecroft, and his Granddaughter Emma Jane Ruecroft.
