Obituary

Rebecca Moss Dean, 68, of Chesterfield, Va, a Warrior of our Heavenly Father, went to be with the Lord after (V1)”...running her race with perseverance, the race marked out for her, (V2) fixing her eyes on Jesus, the author and perfector of our faith. ...” (Heb. 12: 1 & 2) on Thursday, March 7,2019. Becky is a graduate of Huguenot High School in Richmond, VA, Class of 1968, attended NOVACC, and worked for the DOD, FBI, ATF and GSA, as a Telecommunications Specialist. Becky had been blessed to serve the Lordin various churches; in Richmond, at West End A/G; the Northern Virginia area, at Fishnet, Word of Life A/G & Haymarket Baptist; in Brooksville, FL at Christian Life A/G and then back to her Home Church (WEAG) in Richmond. Becky had also been blessed to use her multiple talents and abilities, given her by our Heavenly Father, to bless others, some of which were as a Sunday School Teacher for children and youth, Womens Missions Director, Hospitality Coordinator, VBS Worker and Director, and used her voice singing in Choirs, on Praise and Worship Teams and as a soloist. Becky was an inspiration to many and chosen by some to be a Spiritual Sister, a Spiritual Mom and Spiritual Grandmom. Becky was a persistent prayer warrior and a lover of God’s Word; an insightful and directto-the-point mentor and counselor; a tender hearted giver and provider and a God fearing giver and forgiver. Becky is preceded in death by her parents, Rev. Bernard L. & Fernella (Falk) Moss Sr. and sister, Teresa Moss Bluff. Becky is survived by her beloved husband of 27 years, Matthew Edward Dean Sr.; her children: Forrest Ian McGhee (Adila), Kimberly McGhee Barley (Jerome), Stacy Dean Locke (Daniel) and Matthew Edward Dean II (Beth); her grandchildren: Faiz, Fauzan & Faris; Symone, Asia & Maya; Alia & Derek; and Cameron, Kyle & Madison and great granddaughter Londyn; brothers, B. L. Larry Moss Jr. & James Scott Moss; sisters, Judi Moss Gage (Carl), Karen Moss Mathias (Frank), Melissa Moss Smith (Richard), two uncles and an aunt, many beloved cousins, nephews and nieces. The family will receive family and friends from 2 to 4 pm and 6 to 8 pm on Sunday, March 10, 2019 at Morrissett Funeral & Cremation Service, 6500 Iron Bridge Rd. (RT. 10). A Celebration of Life will take place the following morning, March 11, 2019 at 11 am at the funeral home. Interment will immediately follow at Dale Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to: ‘House of Refuge at Celebration Church and Outreach Ministry’ 5501 Midlothian Tpke. Richmond, VA 23225 or ‘Relay for Life’.
