Obituary
It is with deep sorrow and much love that we mourn the passing of Brenda Nunnally Slaughter of Chesterfield, on Saturday, February 20th, at the age of 77.
Brenda was a native of Richmond. She attended John Marshall High school and graduated from George Wythe in 1961. A year later she married her high-school sweet heart, C.D. “Enos” Slaughter. Brenda and Enos remained in Chesterfield where they raised two children, Delmar and Michelle. She was an active member of Beulah United Methodist Church and volunteer for the Chesterfield, Colonial Heights Christmas Mother.
Brenda will be lovingly remembered by her husband of 59 years, Enos Slaughter, children, Del (Brenda) Slaughter , and Michelle (David) Miles, her four beloved grandchildren, Corbin and Sydney Slaughter and Blake and Carson Miles, her sisters, Linda Seitter and Faye Sisson (Wesley), sister-in-law, Margaret Fleming, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her mother, Frances Underwood, and father, Delmar Nunnally.
Brenda was devoted to her family, friends and community. She loved to travel but spent much of her time attending sporting and school events to support her children and grandchildren. She had a passion for baking and found great joy in making cakes and candy for all of her friends and family. Brenda never met a stranger and could have an engaging conversation with anyone. She was known for her quick wit, and for making everyone laugh with her jokes and stories.
A graveside ceremony will be held on Friday, March 12th at Dale Memorial Park, 10201 Newby”s Bridge Rd. Chesterfield, Va. at 1:00 PM. A celebration of life will be scheduled at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to The Alzheimer”s Association, <https://act.alz.org/>.

Please accept my deepest sympathy on the loss of Brenda. I so enjoyed her company on several occasions, she always had a smile on her face, and something funny to share. May your wonderful memories bring you comfort in the difficult days ahead.

I went to High School with Brenda and have been close with her beautiful family for years. Her sister Linda and I have been best friends for many years. She was such a sweet kindred spirit, always happy and smiling and always there for her family. I know she will be missed but she is no longer struggling and fighting that horrible disease. My thoughts and prayers 🙏 are with each of you as you go through the next weeks💔
