Obituary

Phipps, Charles Gordon, 70, of Chesterfield, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, May 15, 2011. He was preceded in death by his father, Charles Phipps. He is survived by his wife of 14 years, Jeri; mother, Virginia Phipps; son, Scott Phipps, and his wife, Jennie; three daughters, Lisa Robertson, Cam Phipps, Tabitha Smithers and her husband, Michael; two sisters, Kathy Solomon and husband, Bruce, Jena Miller and husband, Tib; thirteen grandchildren, Sara, Timothy, Erin, Cody, Emmett, Courtney, Nicholas, Ethan, Bradley, Noah, Kevin, Mason, and Molly; and several close trucking buddies. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 pm, Tuesday, May 17, 2011, at Morrissett Funeral Home, 6500 Iron Bridge Rd. (Rte. 10), Richmond, where funeral services will be held 10 am, Wednesday. Interment will follow at 3:00 pm in Stewart Cemetery, in Virgilina, VA. Please reassemble at the grave. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions to A Wish Come True, 1010 Warwick Ave., Warwick, RI 02888, awish@awishcometrue.org; Calvary Baptist Church Cemetery Fund, 2663 High Plains Rd., Roxboro, NC 27574; or Faith Memorial Baptist Church Building Fund, 12750 Jefferson Davis Hwy. #304, Chester, VA 23831.

  5. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him. “CG” has been a friend for over 60 years. Funny emails, and prayers have been going both ways for the last 5 years.
