Obituary

David Boggs, 64, born in Wise County, VA, and most recently lived in Amelia County, VA went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, January 17, 2023. David was preceded in death by his mother, Geraldine Steele Boggs, and father, Billy Ray Boggs. He is survived by his beloved fiancée, Ann “Windy” Winston Cardwell; son, Anthony Duane Maiden (Jessica); and brother, Michael Steele Boggs (Sherry); two nephews; one niece; and a host of extended family and friends.

David retired from Chesterfield County Sheriff’s Department as a Deputy Sheriff after 21 years of service. He loved anything nature related to include beekeeping, gardening, his fruit trees, the Chesapeake Bay, and the mountains where he had relatives. The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Monday, January 23, 2023, at Morrissett Funeral & Cremation Service, 6500 Iron Bridge Road. His funeral service with Sheriff Honors will be held at 12:00 pm on Tuesday, January 24, 2023, at Morrissett Funeral & Cremation Service. He will be laid to rest at Southlawn Memorial Park, 1911 Birdsong Rd, South Prince George, VA, 23805, at 2 pm on January 24, 2023.

  4. My sister Cheryl Rackley & I knew David in the 70’s when we worked at Chfld County. He was such a nice guy, good friend & always made us laugh. My sincerest condolences to his family. RestInParadise David.
