Obituary
George “GA” Albert Hester, 59, of Chester, VA went to be with the Lord on Saturday, August 28, 2021. He is preceded in death by his grandparents, George Hazel & Lila Marvin Hester, and Ernest Albert & Clara Sandy Foster. GA is survived by his beloved wife, Sherrie Dove Hester; children, Brianne D. Gunn (Stefan), Amber Marie Hoge (Sonny), Jeremiah William Duty (Kelly) and Nicholas Allen Duty; father, George Marvin; mother, Sandra Foster Gentry; and grandchildren, Buggy, Zeb, Lil Vaeh, Abbi, Boofie, Gavin, Cheese, Turtle, Destiny, and Sydnee. He is also survived by numerous siblings, nieces, nephews, and friends. Friends may visit from 6:00-8:00 pm on Tuesday, September 7 at Morrissett Funeral & Cremation Service, 6500 Iron Bridge Rd. N. Chesterfield, VA 23234. Funeral service will be held at 11 am on Wednesday, September 8 at the Morrissett Chapel. Interment to follow at Dale Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in his name to the Susan G. Komen for the Cure, 1403 Johnston Willis Dr, Richmond, VA 23235.

G.A. my sweet ,loving nephew!! When you were born I was only 11 yrs. old, and I was ever so proud to be your aunt!! Always will be!! As you grew up and married,we did not see each other much over the years ,but I always looked forward to your phone calls every couple of months!! We would chat for what seemed like hours about the good times at Nannie and Papa’s!! It breaks my heart that you are gone, but I am happy that you are pain free and with the Lord!! I know all the family was waiting at heavens gates for you(Nannie,Papa, Aunt Ada ,Uncle Nash, Cousin Robbie ,Uncle Charlie and Step Mom Roseann!! I love you G.A. !!!

G.A., one of my favorite cousins/people! I miss your laugh and joking around more than you know! You loved to poke fun at everyone. You were a great cook, I know you learned that from (Nannie Hester) Ha ha. You were always a hard worker and was loyal to your job and your family. The only regret I have for you is that you did not get to do any “Retirement Vacations” that you worked so hard for when you retired. Love you and Miss you more than than you know! That is okay, I know all the family was waiting for you when you passed over. I will see you again and that is my only solace. Sherrie-
My heart aches for you and your family during this difficult time!! I’ve heard so many wonderful stories in the very short time that I knew GA. Nothing stands out more to me than the LOVE this man had for his family. He was so full of life, had my husband and I in tears laughing the first time we met him. He didn’t know a stranger and made us feel like we had known him forever. Great guy that is missed dearly already.
