Obituary

Jesse Garman, 76, of Chester, VA, went to his final resting place on Monday, February 21, 2022.  Jesse was preceded in death by his mother and father, Lillian and Monroe Garman; his beloved spouse, Jackie Garman; three brothers, Bobby, Edward, Thomas; and sister, June. He is survived by his brother, Mac Garman; two sisters, Jean Kcraget and Loraine Wimmer; in laws, Marie and Wilbur, Patsy and Mike, and Sherry. Uncle Jesse, as he was known, is also survived by a host of nieces and nephews, friends, and family. Jesse was a staple of the community of Chester, owning Worrell’s Barber Shop and providing haircuts since 1964. He is going to be greatly missed by many. The family will receive friends from 10:00 am to 11:00 am on Tuesday, March 1, 2022, at Morrissett Funeral & Cremation Service, 6500 Iron Bridge Road. His funeral service will follow at 11 am. Interment will be at Sunset Memorial Park, 2901 West Hundred Road. In lieu of flowers the family suggests that memorial contributions may be made to Disabled American Veterans (DAV).

  1. It is with great sadness that I learned today of Jesse’s passing. I became a customer of his when we returned to the Chester area some 50 years ago.
    Jesse was a special person and he will be greatly missed.
    May he rest in Peace.

  4. So sorry for your loss. Jesse was one of our customers at The Village Grill. Every Friday he would come get his “double meat with cheese a chocolate chip cookie and a water to wash it all down with”!! Super nice gentleman.
