Obituary

Holder, Jesse James, Sr., 85, of Richmond, went to be with the Lord on Monday, October 19, 2009. He was preceded in death by his wife, Onis Holder, and a son, Jesse J. Holder, Jr. He is survived by his daughters and sons-in-law, Troi and Ronn Stern, Gwyn and Bill Cochran, Cynthia Gregory, Melody and Dave Oliver, April and Bill Raynor; sisters, Stella Phelps and Rose Dodson; brother, Guy Holder; grandchildren, Jamie Holder, Bill Raynor, Jr., Rob Oliver, Rebekah Nesbitt, Jesse J. Holder, III, Ronnie Stern, Jr. and Autumn Stern; 8 great-grandchildren. Mr. Holder retired from E. I. DuPont after 43 years of service. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 pm Wednesday (today) at the Morrissett Funeral Home, 6500 Iron Bridge Rd. (Rt. 10). His funeral service will be held 11 am Thursday at the funeral home. Interment to follow in Sunset Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial contributions be made to Truth and Tidings Trust, 3228 Blake Road, Wadsworth, OH 44281 for missionaries Rebekah and John Nesbitt.

  1. April and family,I was at the beach when received the news of Mr. Holder’s death. It was a shock. I loved talking to him on the phone. I would always tease him that I was his next favorite when April was not not at desk. He just laughed. I still expect him to be calling. Memories will help you get through the sad times. My love is with you and in our own way he made each person feel they were his favorite.

May the comfort of God help you during this difficult time. Lean on your friends for strength, and always remember how much you are cared about. After a while you will begin to remember not just that he died but that he lived, and that his life gave you many memories too beautiful to forget.
