Obituary

Agnes Curry Burr, 87, passed away on Tuesday, September 5, 2006, after a brief illness. She was born in Renick, West Virginia, and was a graduate of Concord University. She began her 29-year teaching career in Greenbrier County, WV, and retired from Chesterfield County Schools in 1981. She was also a Silver Sister of the Alpha Delta Kappa Teachers Sorority. A member of Beulah United Methodist Church, Mrs. Burr was a past president of the Richmond District United Methodist Women, as well as a former member of the Executive Committee of the Virginia Conference United Methodist Women. She was an active member of the Denny Landrum Chapter of the American Ex-Prisoners of War. Mrs. Burr was preceded in death by her husband, Clinton Burr, and her sister, Eldred Ballard. She is survived by her daughter, Rebecca Green and her husband Doug, of Richmond; son, C.D. Burr, Jr., of Midlothian; sister, Leda Curry, of Renick, WV; granddaughters, Kelly Burr, Anna and Marissa Green; grandsons, Kevin Burr and Jacob Green. Family will receive friends today from 6pm to 8pm at the Morrissett Funeral Home, 6500 Iron Bridge Rd. (Rt 10). Her funeral service will be held Friday at 11am at the funeral home with interment to follow in Dale Memorial Park.
