Important Update Regarding COVID-19
Morrissett Funeral and Cremation Service is constantly monitoring the rapid changes of COVID-19 (Corona Virus)
We are following instructions by the Governor of Virginia, The CDC, The National Funeral Directors Association, The Virginia Funeral Directors Association and Regulatory Support Services.
The following outlines the Phase 3 procedure in compliance with the Governor’s current order of 50% capacity.
As of May 15, 2020, Governor Northam has begun to allow some businesses and places of worship and or ceremony to operate at 50% occupancy. We are committed to the families we serve and the communities that support them. We ask that families consider that the type of gatherings they hold to be ever mindful of those who attend, and their health and well-being. We also ask that you refrain from hugging or shaking hands and practice safe social distancing.
What this means for services:
As of May 26, 2020, Governor Northam has put an order in place requiring masks to be worn when in public buildings. In order to protect the vulnerable and high-risk members of the community, it is highly recommended that face masks be worn. Unfortunately, we are unable to provide masks for visitors; please utilize your own. Failure to use a mask while in our establishment will be an assumed release of liability.
All Morrissett Staff will be wearing face masks at all times.
We have placed hand sanitizer and polite reminders throughout the building to assist with cleanliness. We have upgraded the air filters on all of our HVAC systems to promote cleaner air exchange. If you are not in attendance and would like to pass condolences or have your name added to the guest book, please call us and we will assist or utilize the online condolences at Morrissett.com.
Once again, we ask you to practice safe social distancing, and to please not attend if you are ill or at high risk.
Families that maybe in need of our services in the coming weeks, please know that we will care for you and your loved ones with the utmost respect and assist you in the options we feel are safe and that comply with the Governor of Virginia’s limitations and the CDC.
This can mean public or private family services. We promise to work with you as families and your comfort level and desires to honor your loved one.
Please be aware that no coffee, cookies, or cups of water will be available to any guest or families. We will have bottled water available at your request.
As we monitor this ever rapidly changing situation, we will continue to provide updates in regard to the measures we are taking. We appreciate the support and kindness shown during this difficult time. If you have any questions or need further assistance, please contact us at 804-275-7828 or e-mail to Staff@Morrissett.com

Today as you look into these eyes you see your best friend……you see the past that you have shared, the joy of the present, and the boundless future that the two of you have yet to share. The past is lost forever….the future is not yet here, all that you really own is the present. This moment is your gift to one another…..that is why it is called the present. Over the years that you will share together, these eyes will cry tears of joy for your triumphs, and tears of sorrow for your pains and disappointments….In difficult times these eyes will provide you with sympathy and support without a word….just a look that says: I understand, and I am here for you. These eyes will always see the real you…..your strengths and your faults together……and even so, the love that you see in these eyes shall never waiver. These are the eyes that will watch over your children with the care and concern that you see now in these eyes. And one day when these eyes are tired and faded with age, lined with a lifetime of laughter, they’ll still be gazing into yours, still giving you that same unspoken tenderness with just a glance…….And from this day forward, when ever you look into these eyes you will know…….you will know that you are home

My heart goes out to all of Beth’s family and friends. She was the essence of a truly great friend and a good soul. Always there to listen. Always there to help. Always with a smile. My only true friend in this world. You shared every bit of my life. The ups and downs. You made me feel better when I was down. You were such an important part of my life. With you gone there is such an empty spot in my soul. I will see you again my sister. But until then fly high and free. You always said you love me more. Beth, I love you always.

Miss you always Beth and I will do as I promised and watch over my dad
IN MEMORY OF A STEPMOTHER
I know you are not with us today
I miss you more than words can say
I feel your presence by my side
Ever always to be my guide
You lifted me to reach new heights
Guided me through all life’s plights
To dad you gave undying love
And he stills feels it from above
I know I never did express
My true feelings you’d never guess
Respect and love I felt for you
I hope somehow you felt it too
We all must go that way someday
And we will meet again one day
Of this one thing I am sure
An angel went ahead before.
