Obituary

Carl Blaine Mason, Jr., 80, of Chesterfield, VA went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, October 25, 2022. Born on April 29, 1942, Nashville, TN to the late Sue Ann and Carl Blaine Mason, Sr., he is also preceded in death by his step-son, John Kenneth King, Jr.; two sisters, Betty Neeley, and Alice Wilson. Blaine was bigger than life. When he walked in a room all 6’4 inches. He was a person who you wouldn’t forget. He never met a stranger, and he could make you laugh. He could tell a tall tale and you would completely believe him. Blaine and Carolyn enjoyed the same fun things. They enjoyed motorcycle riding, going to the mountains, picnic lunches, and antique and junk shopping. He served in the United States Marine Corps and National Guard for a total of 20 years and he loved the Marines. He is survived by his beloved wife of 40 years, Carolyn Ann Mason; son, Patrick Eugene Mason-Phoebus (Vena Jones); granddaughter, Zoe & Sophie Phoebus; grandson, Jordan Bailey King; three brothers, Michael David Mason (Virginia) and Pete Mason (Cherry), both of Tennessee and Scotty Mason, of Ohio; friends, Judee Smith and Sherry Litchford. His funeral service will be held on, Wednesday, November 2, 2022, at 2:00 p.m. at Virginia Veterans Cemetery in Amelia Court House, 10300 Pridesville Rd, Amelia Court House, VA 23002.
