Obituary
Clinton E. Jones, Sr., Ltc. (U.S. Army Retired), 92, of Chesterfield, went to be with the Lord on May 22, 2014. He is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Jean. He is also survived by his daughter, Serena Durst (James), son, Earl Jones (Tracy), and his special adopted daughter, Sharon Brown; grandchildren, Casey, Zachary, and Ellie Jones. Clint graduated from NC State University. He was a retired engineer from DuPont. Ltc. Jones also served during WWII and retired from the Army Reserve after 39 years of faithful and honorable service. He was also a member of the Military Order of the World Wars and the Military Officers Association of America. The family will receive friends on Monday, May 26, 2014 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Morrissett Funeral and Cremation Service, 6500 Iron Bridge Rd. (Rt. 10). Graveside services with full military honors will be held at Dale Memorial Park at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, May 27, 2014. A memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday at Centenary United Methodist Church, 411 E. Grace St., Richmond, with a reception immediately following. In lieu of flowers, please make contributions to Centenary United Methodist Church, 411 E. Grace St., Richmond, VA 23219.

It is with great sorrow that we hear of Clint’s departure of this life. His love for his family went beyond mere duty. Brenda and I leave you with this prayer. May God bring to you joyful memories, daily grace, and a peace that endures.

So sorry to hear about Mr. Jone’s passing. He was a customer at the Meadowdale branch of Bank of America and I always enjoyed waiting on him. He was a true gentleman and I know he will be missed. You are all in my prayers.

Jean and family; it is with great sadness that we learned of Clint’s passing. We rejoice however knowing he’s now glorified with his Lord and savior. I remember how special it was to have you and Clint to Varina NJROTC’s awards banquets. He always had such great words of encouragement for the cadets. Looked so sharp in his uniform too. We fondly remember all of the wonderful times at the bowling alley as well. I will always remember his warm smile and loving spirit. May you be comforted knowing that someday you will be reunited in glory.
