Obituary

Gordon Melville King III, 69, N. Chesterfield, VA went to be with the Lord on Thursday, March 21, 2024. He was preceded in death by his wife, Susan Worner King; parents, Gordon and Naomi King; and siblings, Bobby King and Joanne Avery. Gordon is survived by his children, Kimberly K. Neff (David) and Jason Lee King (Hillary); grandchildren, Christopher, Justin, Emily, Lacey, and Kason; and siblings, Ernie King (Shannon) and Marie King. A graveside service will be held at 2:00 pm on Monday, March 25 at Rennie Memorial Presbyterian Church Cemetery, 6720 Dennisville Rd., Amelia Court House, VA 23002. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in his name to Tunnel to Towers Foundation, 2361 Hylan Blvd., Staten Island, NY 10306.

  1. I was so heartbroken to hear my buddy passed away. He played drums for me many years ago. I will miss talking to him. I’m so thankful we stayed in touch. R.I.P Gordon, now you can play drums in God’s Holy band.

  2. I just saw this obituary and had no idea Gordon was taken home to be with the Lord. He and Susan were always such good neighbors and friends. He will be missed but I know he will rest happy and in peace now along with his wife. Love and Gods Blessings always.

  3. Indeed, this is sad news, for anyone who knew Gordon. He was a great man and a teriffic buddy ! I hadn’t seen Gordon in awhile, but I already miss him. He was, without a doubt, the best darn drummer I have ever known !!!
