  1. My deepest condolences to his beloved wife and family. We are saddened to learn of Jim’s passing. I had the pleasure of working with him for many years and considered him a dear friend. May God surround you with loving peace to comfort you during this difficult time.

    1. Thank You Sheila for your kind words. We appreciate all the prayers everyone is saying for us, and we also are praying for Heavenly Father to comfort, and give peace to all those who are saddened by his loss.

  2. Dad I love you! I Miss You! You Will Never Be Far From My Thoughts.
I Will Cherish All My Memories Of You For The Remainder Of My Life.

  3. Jim and I were coworkers from late 1991 until retirement. After so many years I suppose i just thought he would always be there even after retirement, e.g. seeing each other at commissary, emails, etc. My heart is absolutely broken. I am so sorry for your loss. I still needed him in my life and I know you feel that many times over. He was truly one of a kind. FYI the picture in his obit shows that silly grin and it is simply PERFECT. God bless you all and may he give you the strength to go forward and know you were so loved by a really good guy.

    1. Thank you Susan for your prayers, and lovely words about my Dad. I’m sorry we were not able to have it live streamed for all who were not able to attend. Hope you’re doing well.

  4. I left a previous message however it apparently didn’t make it to the guest book. Jim and I have been friends for just over 30 years through work and also after retirement. Jim was so very dear to me and I am totally heartbroken but I know my loss is nothing compared to Vicki’s and his children. Jim was a total joy of a man and this world has honestly lost a treasure. May God give you strength to bear the loss of your precious Jim.

I am sorry to hear about Sergeant Shults. He was my supply sergeant in the 187th AHC in Vietnam 1969-70. He was like a father figure to me. His room was next to mine in the supply bunker. He was funny, very likable, and was very positive. being just a kid in a war zone it was nice to have someone like Sergeant Shultz there encouraging me and the other guys in supply. I finally Made contact with him a on social media and it thrilled my heart to communicate once again with him. I know he will be missed by his family. He was a true patriot and loved America and the Army. So Sergeant Shultz I salute you in the most respectful way. You Made an impression on my life as I know he did in many others. RIP.

    1. Thank you Jimmy, you were the one he served with that he mentioned most when he talk about Vietnam.
We really wanted him to attend at least one reunion, but he just didn’t have it in him to travel much anymore.
We really appreciate your kind words about our Dad, and I’m glad he had a positive influence on your life. I would really
appreciate if you have any memories of my Dad from Vietnam that you want to share please feel free to email them to the address you corresponded with him in the past. I would also like to send you some pictures by email from Vietnam that we had digitized several years ago.
We pray for good health, peace, and grace to be with all the 187th Veterans.
