After the Navy, he returned to Cullen and graduated from Randolph Henry High School in 1961. Jesse moved to Washington D.C. and began his long career in sales. Relocating to Richmond in 1965, he sold cars and often had to call the banks for loan approval. It was during these calls he became enamored with Linda, a young switchboard operator. After selling everything from electrical supplies to cars, he started his own landscaping service in order to spend more time with his family. Jesse was an excellent husband, father, and provider. 5. Jeannie Ball says:

My name is Jeannie Ball. I first met Jesse as a child. He was friends with my mother’s family. I was so very saddened to hear of his passing. I remember Jessie just as you described him in his obituary, a very kind and caring man. Linda, you and Jesse came to my my wedding 50 years ago in June of1972. A small country church in Caroline County, about 30 miles north of Richmond. Since then, I think I saw Jesse only one time at a family funeral. My family and I often remembered Jesse in conversations. From what you wrote and looking at the video, it looks like you and Jesse had a wonderful life, and a beautiful family. What a blessing from God that is. Please know that you and your family are in our thoughts and prayers. My mother, Sadie Tuck, sends her deepest sympathy also. God bless and comfort each of you in the days and weeks ahead. Jeannie Ball
