Obituary
John Wayne “JW” Waldrop, Sr., 79, of N. Chesterfield, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, March 15, 2020. He is survived by his beloved wife of 58 years, Jane Bailey Waldrop: son, John W. Waldrop, Jr.; daughter-in-law, Jill S. Waldrop; grandchildren, Sarah & Hunter Waldrop and Grand-dog, Dottie. JW was preceded in death by his parents, Bernice Virginia and Charles Morris Waldrop, Jr.; brother, Glen S. Waldrop; in-laws, Oliver and Irene Bailey. JW was the former owner of Manchester Auto Parts, a lifelong member of Branch”s Baptist Church and the former president and a honorary member of Grange Hall hunt club. The family will receive friends from 10:00 am to 11:00 am on Wednesday, March 18, 2020 at Branch’s Baptist Church, 3400 Broad Rock Blvd. His funeral service will be held 11:00 am following the visitation. Burial will take at 2pm in Skinquarter Baptist Church cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family suggests that memorial contributions may be made to Branch’s Baptist Church 3400 Broad Rock Blvd., N. Richmond, VA, 23234.

Boss -aka Bigbird, I will always remember the fun times I had working with you at the parts store and all the things you did for me. The great times we had at Grange Hall Hunt Club and all the quirky jokes you told! You are truly a cornerstone of that club and will be deeply missed. Our thoughts and prayers go to the family. Jane: Our thoughts and prayers go out to you and John and your whole family. J.W. was a true friend and we will miss him greatly. I am sure he is in heaven now telling jokes to everyone! There are tears on earth missing J.W. but is a great amount of laughter in heaven.

Jane and John, I cannot begin to say how sorry I was to hear about J.W.’s passing .He certainly was a big influence on my life ,not only was he the funniest person I ever had the honor to know ,he was also one of the kindest. Jane, John and family,
I’m so sorry for your loss. Wally was very special to my dad and I, and someone I always looked forward to seeing. He was always ready and willing to tell a joke and make you laugh, even if you weren’t quite ready for it. He had a heart of gold and will be sorely missed.
