Obituary
John T. Smyth, 53, of North Chesterfield, VA passed away on Tuesday, March 26, 2024. He was born on June 19, 1970 in Elizabeth, New Jersey to the late Thomas George and Bessie Olivia Smyth. John was also preceded in death by his sister, Ellen M. Smyth; brothers, Robert Thomas Smyth, Thomas Robert Smyth, Warren James Smyth; and a niece, Denise Smyth.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 19 years, Wendy Dee Smyth; sisters, Cathy L. Smyth and Ellen S. Mitchell (Brian); nephew, Michael J. Smyth (Heather); nieces, Amanda Mitchell and Candice Baumgartner (Joe); granddaughters, Victoria Baumgartner and Emma Baumgartner; mother-in-law, Thelma Perin; and the cat, Grayson.
John was a loving husband, brother, uncle, and grandfather. He was a transmission mechanic for over 30 years. During his free time, he enjoyed watching sports, collecting sports memorabilia, traveling around the country attending sporting events along with his wife and his brother, and traveling in general, especially cruising. He will be missed by all who knew him.
A graveside service will be held at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday, March 30, 2024 at Centralia Cemetery, 10000 Hopkins Road, Chester, VA 23831.
