Important Update Regarding COVID-19
Morrissett Funeral and Cremation Service is constantly monitoring the rapid changes of COVID-19 (Corona Virus)
We are following instructions by the Governor of Virginia, The CDC, The National Funeral Directors Association, The Virginia Funeral Directors Association and Regulatory Support Services.
The following outlines the Phase 3 procedure in compliance with the Governor’s current order of 50% capacity.
As of May 15, 2020, Governor Northam has begun to allow some businesses and places of worship and or ceremony to operate at 50% occupancy. We are committed to the families we serve and the communities that support them. We ask that families consider that the type of gatherings they hold to be ever mindful of those who attend, and their health and well-being. We also ask that you refrain from hugging or shaking hands and practice safe social distancing.
What this means for services:
As of May 26, 2020, Governor Northam has put an order in place requiring masks to be worn when in public buildings. In order to protect the vulnerable and high-risk members of the community, it is highly recommended that face masks be worn. Unfortunately, we are unable to provide masks for visitors; please utilize your own. Failure to use a mask while in our establishment will be an assumed release of liability.
All Morrissett Staff will be wearing face masks at all times.
We have placed hand sanitizer and polite reminders throughout the building to assist with cleanliness. We have upgraded the air filters on all of our HVAC systems to promote cleaner air exchange. If you are not in attendance and would like to pass condolences or have your name added to the guest book, please call us and we will assist or utilize the online condolences at Morrissett.com.
Once again, we ask you to practice safe social distancing, and to please not attend if you are ill or at high risk.
Families that maybe in need of our services in the coming weeks, please know that we will care for you and your loved ones with the utmost respect and assist you in the options we feel are safe and that comply with the Governor of Virginia’s limitations and the CDC.
This can mean public or private family services. We promise to work with you as families and your comfort level and desires to honor your loved one.
Please be aware that no coffee, cookies, or cups of water will be available to any guest or families. We will have bottled water available at your request.
As we monitor this ever rapidly changing situation, we will continue to provide updates in regard to the measures we are taking. We appreciate the support and kindness shown during this difficult time. If you have any questions or need further assistance, please contact us at 804-275-7828 or e-mail to Staff@Morrissett.com

I’ve known John since Highschool and we lived in the same neighborhood. We had some amazing times together. If I ever needed him he was just a phone call away. One of my favorite memories of John is when we were at bo datious in the late 80s. John had a micro bus we called “gas chamber”. We were doing donuts in a field as we were leaving and we flipprd the bus. We left and made it to the daycare after frizbies and the motor blew, so we abandoned it. A year and a half later Powhatan sent in the mail a storage fee of $500 and he told him to keep it. He will be greatly missed. We love you, brother.

My prayers are with you all. Jon was such a good man. We all had such good times together. Our kids grew up together. He loved life. I’m just at a loss for words.
Just remember the Boze family loves you all, and if you ever need anything please call us.
Gary, Nikki, Steven and Autumn.

John and I worked together for a lot of years. He was one very intelligent person. We all loved John immensely. We had so much fun together. I’m so saddened by his passing. I must say I’m somewhat consoled that he’s not suffering anymore. Our Lord is merciful in that regard. Where God tears these great gaps in our lives we should not try to fill them with human words. Our only comfort is the the God of the resurrection, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. There’s a virtual army of people praying for the entire Noxon family. Imagine a rainbow of prayers heading to heaven on your behalf. I always smile just a little imagining the reunion he’s having with all of his loved ones that crossed the threshold before him. May you rest in peace my friend and enjoy your new acquaintance with Jesus!

Jon will forever be loved and missed. He was an outstanding person. I had the pleasure of growing up with his son Hunter and every time Jon was nearby we were having a good time. I’ll have to agree that he loved life. My most shared memory I share with everyone are the times we went out on the boat. Rest In Peace Jon Noxon. Thank you for all the great memories.
