Obituary

Woodcock, June Islip, 63. The world lost a one-of-a-kind, amazing, unforgettable mother to all, wife, and friend on Saturday, February 6, 2010. God blessed us with her presence on November 30, 1946 in St. Brides, Newfoundland, Canada, and she later became a longtime resident of Sandston, VA. She graduated from George Wythe High School, class of 1965. She was preceded in death by her father, George W. Islip, Sr., and a brother, John Jack Islip. She is survived by her mother, Lucy Coffey Islip, and dedicated husband of 42 memorable years, Stuart E. Woodcock. Unbelievably missed by her three children, Mandi (Keith Roberts), Kelly (Chris Sanders), and Brenten (Amanda Proctor); four grandchildren, Kelsi, Stone, Kade, and Natalie; dear friends, Ashley Reynolds and Heather Reynolds, as well as a brother, George Islip, Jr., and sister, Robin Mitzi Thomas. Yaya, you have left us with so many Mama stories (soon to be written and on the best sellers list)! The best way to describe you is Madea! Heaven will never be the same! A memorial service will be conducted at 2 PM Saturday, February 13 at Sandston Baptist Church, Williamsburg Rd. (Rt. 60), Sandston, VA. In lieu of flowers (which are unmanageable at this point), memorial contributions may be made to the Woodcock Family Fund, c/o C & F Bank, 100 E. Williamsburg Rd., Sandston, VA 23150.

Mandi, you are one of those people you meet, like and don’t forget. Everything sounds like that also was your mother. I know she will be missed and thought of by many as she makes her new journey. I would like to send my sincere symphathies to the family. Not only myself but John Cooper from the law firm of Shapiro, Cooper, Lewis & Appleton.

  2. Mandi – I worked with you at Woody Hogg & Associates and I was very sorry to hear about your mother’s tragic death. I am keeping you and your family in my prayers. Thinking of you!

  3. To Mandi and the entire Woodcock family:
Our Deepest condolences in remembering your Mother.
