Obituary

Karen Bartlett Jones, age 35, went home to the Lord on Saturday, June 22, 2019, following a courageous battle with AML. Karen was born February 25, 1984. She is survived by her daughter Kristina Rae McCloud, her fiancé Jeremy C. McCloud, her parents Kurtis R. and Cynthia C. Jones, her brother Alan K. Jones and his wife Misty, and two nephews A.J. and Jaxon Jones. Karen also has many uncles, aunts, and cousins whom she loved dearly.
The family thanks the doctors and nurses in the bone marrow transplant program at VCU for their loving care of Karen over the last 15 months. We also thank the members of Spring Creek Baptist Church, in Darlington Heights, where Karen was a member, Second Branch Baptist Church in Chesterfield, and her many family and friends who provided support for her.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, June 29, 2019 at Morrissett Funeral Home, 6500 Iron Bridge Road, Richmond VA 23234. Visitation will be from 12:30pm-1:30pm with the service beginning at 1:30pm. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to VCU Massey Cancer Center BMT Fund. The address is P.O.   1. Curtis, Cindy and family…I am heartbroken to hear about Karen’s passing. I have fond memories and I will cherish them always. I’m so glad she made a point to seek me out last summer when I was in Chesterfield. It was so good to see her again. I love y’all and will be praying for you during this difficult time and the days that follow. If I can do anything for you, please let me know!
