Obituary

Lois Schenck Johnson, 96, of North Chesterfield, VA, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, January 22, 2022. She was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, Layton Jackson Johnson, Sr; mother, Edith Catherine Schenck; father, Benjamin Francis-Wolstein Shenck. Lois is survived by her son, Layton Johnson, Jr. (Diane); daughter, Elizabeth J. Henshaw (Sonny); two granddaughters, Shelley Langford (Robbie), Kathy Henegar (Jerry); great-grandson, Dale Langford; two great-granddaughters, Molly Langford, and Ruby Vaught. After retiring from the IRS in 1991, Lois enjoyed traveling with her husband. They embarked on a cross country journey from Virginia to Alaska. When she was not traveling, she was making quilts for her family. Lois was a dedicated member of the Chesterfield Chapter Order of The Eastern Star (No. 139) and later joined The Manchester Chapter (No. 53). The family will receive friends from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Sunday, January 30, 2022, at Morrissett Funeral & Cremation Service, 6500 Iron Bridge Rd. N. Chesterfield, VA 23234. A graveside service will be held 11:00 am on Tuesday, February 1, 2022, at Dale Memorial Park, 10201 Newby’s Bridge Rd. N. Chesterfield, VA 23832.  In lieu of flowers the family suggests that memorial contributions may be made to Sherbourne United Methodist Church.
